Jim is currently the leader of Strategic Purchasing looking after direct and indirect categories, globally, along with our Purchasing COE.
His prior, and first role at Cummins, was the Executive Director of Supply Chain Strategy where he looked after many strategic projects and transformation programs.
Prior to joining Cummins, Jim worked at Dell, where he held a variety of positions that involved global supply chain strategy, design and implementation.
He also led process engineering in support of executing and improving global operations.
This experience and knowledge enabled him to lead large portions of Dell’s Client Reinvention end-to-end business transformation.
Before working at Dell, Jim was as a Hub Leader for Solectron Texas where he ran an engineering and operations business unit responsible for $100 million in product and services.
He and his team also provided design and supply chain services.
These services included board, application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) and application design; new technology qualification, rapid proto-typing, supply chain start-up with materials pipe-lining, along with cost geography production launch.
After graduating from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Jim joined IBM in Austin, Texas.
At IBM, he had numerous roles in operations, engineering and product development.
He started as a functional test engineer, and quickly became a leader with various engineering management roles.
Jim and his wife Tricia and their son Zane live in Columbus, Indiana.
